About EPD Hub

About EPD Hub

EPD Hub's mission is to provide a transparent, high-quality, and integrity-driven environment for creating and verifying Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). As a digital-native EPD program, we combine rigorous standards with modern tools to bring reliable environmental data into the market.

Tools and transparency

EPD Hub is an open system. Our General Program Instructions allow the use of any suitable LCA tools, and we welcome compliant, valid tools and EPD generators to join our pre-verification process. We are fully transparent about our program operations and will address any questions openly, and with direct communication.

Quality and verification

Quality is EPD Hub’s top priority. Our platform provides full traceability, automated screening for flawed submissions, transparent verifier-customer communication, and robust document control. This digital workflow supports consistent, ISO 14025-compliant EPDs and makes high-quality EPD creation accessible to both manufacturers and LCA professionals.

Integrity

EPD Hub’s program structure is intentionally designed to avoid conflict of interest. Verification activities are not connected to revenue targets, and our board cannot influence verification decisions. Independence and impartiality are fundamental to how we operate.

The EPD Hub Program Manager is responsible for the program operations, including managing verification processes and approvals, including pre-verifying EPD generators. The Program Manager is responsible for executing the duties as set out in the ISO 14025.

API connections for sharing digital EPDs with

EC3, developed by Building Transparency, is a free, open-access tool for embodied carbon accounting in material specification and procurement, with APIs enabling data access for EPDs, PCRs, and project integrations. It supports carbon-smart decisions through configurable jobs and extractions via developer APIs.

2050 Materials provides an API-first platform with real-time data on building material climate impacts, drawing from a database of over 200,000 products and 10,000 materials for embodied carbon calculations.

Twinbase is an open-source platform for hosting and managing digital twin documents using Semantic Web standards, supporting machine-readable product data, digital product passports, and building lifecycle tracking. It enables syncing of twin data across manufacturers, designers, and contractors via git-based hosting.
