EPD Hub Verification Process

Verified for trust by independent experts

Every EPD published by EPD Hub undergoes an independent third-party verification in compliance with ISO 14025. EPD Hub follows verification principles from ECO Platform, supporting consistent and robust quality.

Third-party verification is a foundational element of credibility for EPDs. At EPD Hub, we ensure transparency, efficiency, and impartiality at every step of the verification process.

EPD Hub’s verification procedures:

  1. Software verification: EPD Hub accepts EPDs submitted by software for which a software pre-verification has been successfully completed. Software verification is performed by one or more third-party independent verifiers. Software verification does not substitute third party verification, but it helps avoid recurring errors.

  2. Automatic rejection tools: EPD Hub has built tools for delivering automated rejection for EPDs with detected errors even before they are received by the verifiers. This also reduces rework due to avoidable errors before going to third party verification.

  3. Verifier approval: Verifiers who fulfill the competence requirements, or pass the verifier exam, are approved by the verification committee.

  4. Verifier assignment: EPD Hub allocates the verifiers for projects; companies can not choose who verifies their data. EPD Hub considers industry experience and absence of conflicts of interest in allocation decisions. Every verifier operates under a strict NDA.

  5. ISO and EN compliance: Third-party verification of the EPDs and associated information in compliance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804 with a digital, traceable verification workflow. Every comment, response and modification is visible in the EPD Hub’s verification dashboard. This helps verifiers get a holistic view and track every change easily without getting lost in documents exchanged in email. Additionally, all exchanges are made within the platform.

  6. Verification statement on every EPD: EPD Hub verifiers sign an explicit verification statement specifying what they have verified, this statement is attached to every EPD. This ensures there’s no ambiguity about the verifier or scope or quality of the verification.

  7. Post-verification controls: EPD Hub reviews a sample of new EPDs on a weekly basis to ensure that both publishers and verifiers are performing their tasks in conformity with EPD Hub’s requirements.

  8. Effective complaints and concerns procedure: EPD Hub welcomes concerns and complaints for EPDs at https://www.epdhub.com/contact-us. All reports will be handled promptly. EPD Hub will review the issues and if necessary, unpublish EPDs pending corrective actions.
